Approximately 0.5 years ago, on May 20th, MATES published our first edition, which was contributed by and distributed among MATES alliance clubs. In celebration of our 0.5 anniversary 🎉 along with a famous equation— E=mc^2 (published on November 21st, 1905 by Albert Einstein)—and the achievements of George School alumnus Mario Capecchi, MATES presents to you the E=mc^2 Edition.

In this edition, we would like to share with you Einstein’s constructive thinking, Mario Capecchi’s gene targeting, and more. This edition is contributed by Alex Chen ’24, Linglong Dai ’23, Jimmy Ding ’23, Forest Ho-Chen ’22, Ian Hopkins ’22, Rudy Jatnieks ’24, Max Lin ’24, Andrew Luisi ’24, Zachary Spangler ’22, Shane Vogel ’24, Yuki Wang ’23, and Camellia Zheng ’23. MATES truly appreciates their efforts!

Also, please congratulate the George School Varsity Math Team on winning their third consecutive Philly League championship ✌️ with a 30-19 win over The Hill School. GSVMT has the number 1, 3, 6, 7, 10, and 12 ranked individual players. Shoutout to the Boys Varsity Soccer, Varsity Cross Country, and Varsity Football teams for supporting us before the match!

-Linglong Dai '23, MATES co-executive editor
