GSVMT vs Westtown 2019
Disclaimer: This is a fictional retelling of the famous GSVMT matchup against Westtown in 2019. This is not actually what happened. This is just saying what it would look like if it were a soccer game instead of a math match. The scores of the George School top 6 and overall team scores for both schools are accurate, but everything else is made up. The names of the Westtown players have been changed to the fictional universe-like names because reasons. This does not necessarily mean that there is a correspondence between the Westtown team and the corresponding people in the fictional universe. Numbers are also assigned randomly to people who did not request specific numbers. All gendered pronouns have been changed to they/them pronouns. No harm is meant to the players of the George School Varsity Math Team or the Westtown Math Team.
Pre-match: George School and Westtown are currently ranked 3rd and 4th in the Philly League right now, with Westtown’s Joseph Momah (C, 10) in the first place position, but George School’s Bom Jindanuwat (1) and Ellen Zhang (C, 6) could take over if they get a perfect score and Joe doesn’t. Also of note, on George School’s team, we have Justin Liu (C, -1), one of the top goalies in the league, but they will face another top goalie, Westtown’s Timothy Paintbrush (C, 1). George School also has Ta Somsirivattana (2), who although isn’t ranked that high, can often make a big impact in these matches. Tommy Wang (10) is expected to make some good plays, along with Jason Liu (pi^2), who is the best sophomore on George School’s team because Forest Ho-Chen (69) is irrelevant. Finally, George School has another star defender in Anney Ye (20). Westtown has some skilled players as well, including Candice Long (7), Bob Koiyuto (4), and Jason Mot (3). Overall, this is expected to be a very close match, so let’s see how this goes.

Post-match:
What a game! Forest Ho-Chen (69) started the scoring off within the first minute, then George School dominated with good work from Bom Jindanuwat (1) and Ta Somsirivattana (2). Both teams had some good plays in the midgame, with Westtown’s Joe Momah (C, 10), Westtown’s Candice Long (7), George School’s Ellen Zhang (C, 6), and George School’s Tommy Wang (10) all looking strong. However, after many saves by George School keeper Justin Liu (C, -1), Joe Momah (C, 10) looked like they would be able to turn the match around and get Westtown back into the game. However, their shot was blocked by George School’s Left Back, now playing striker, Forest Ho-Chen (69). Forest then had passed with Winnie Ding (15), Walter Chang (23), Vinay Thulasiram (118), and Linglong Dai (e+i*pi) before scoring the game-ending goal, sealing the victory for George School. Westtown’s Joe Momah (C, 10) dropped from 1st place to 3rd, and George School’s Bom Jindanuwat (1) is now in first, with Ellen Zhang (C, 6) in second place. George School is also now the top-ranked school in the Philly League. Player of the Match goes to Forest Ho-Chen (69) for starting and ending the game, as well as pulling an upset against Joe Momah (C, 10). I can’t wait to see what happens next to them, now that they’ve shown what they can do as a striker. Maybe they end up as a Philly League Individual Champion, or maybe leads the team to a Friends League Championship, or perhaps brings the team to victory at a Varsity Tournament, or perhaps leads the team to another Philly League Championship. Maybe they even will rank 7th in the nation in Math Madness next year. But that’s just speculation. Anyway, Captains Ellen (6) and Justin (-1) have confirmed that they will be playing striker next year, though they will play as left-back against Episcopal, which probably isn’t the best idea given what they can do as a striker, but it is understandable given how good Bom (1) and Ta (2) look. Still not sure why they can’t just use a 433 and put Forest as a striker. Ellen (6) also supports making Forest (69) a captain for next year.
Final Scores:
GS: 35 (7+7+7+7+7) with another perfect score (perfect scores by Ta, Bom, Ellen, Tommy, Forest, and Justin).
