Robotics Team

Alana Sung '25

This year has marked the start of the revival of the George School Robotics Team. After being on hiatus during Covid, it has emerged as an activity of interest to the George School community. With the help of the new leaders and a group of 33 interested students, this team has a very bright future ahead, with the leaders envisioning success at many competitions at many levels, both at state and national-levels including the RoboCup Junior, which the team has just begun preparing for.

With the first meeting taking place on September 11th, the leaders shared their visions for the team, proving that they believe that the future is bright and that there are no limitations to their success.

On October 1st, the groups were released, taking feedback from the participants about timing and personal preferences. The majority of students wanted to build a robot that could play soccer, with four groups planning to build one compared to the one group that wanted to build a robot that could complete a rescue. After some brief shifting of groups, they were finally set and are working together as of now to build the best robot possible, starting to put in more and more time as well as hard work into their creations.

As they continue to work, soon enough, everyone will begin to see the demonstrations as the team prepares for their competitions this spring and summer.
